Building A Mountain

At the market boys have constructed a mountain and road and use a stick to direct a small car. Inca children usually make up their own games and activities.

These boys live in one of the mountain communities near Chinchero. The "huge" stones on the mountain they built seem inspired by the giant Inca foundation stones they see around them.

Until recently many mountain families did not use money. Machine-made objects, like the boys' small car are rare.
