Nilda and Children Sitting on an Inca Seat

Nilda and children in her family enjoy their visits to the Inca ruins near the house. Here they try out a seat carved into the natural rock which could have been used on ceremonial occasions by the emperor Tupa Inca who built Chinchero as his country estate.

When children take care of their sheep or explore the mountains, valleys, and slopes of Chinchero they find Inca steps carved into stone formations, ancient paths, caves, and tunnels that lead through rock outcroppings.
