Guadalupe, Nilda's Mother

"In Chinchero we never have empty hands," Nilda says. When her mother, Guadalupe, isn't cooking, weaving, farming, traveling to trade or taking care of animals, her hands are spinning to make yarn for her next weaving project. Here she sits on an Inca stone in the courtyard, mantas and weaving materials by her side, preparing yarn to make a blanket.
